Workflow steps in connected apps, inspection plans from the model, strict backflush, and kanban labels

workflowsqualityproductioninventory

Drawings, bins, long lists and copy-paste between apps all held up work. This release lets workflows act in Gmail, Slack and Google Calendar, builds inspection plans straight from the 3D model, makes backflush take material only from the bin you named, and lets long lists scroll without paging. It also adds signed purchase orders, printed kanban cards, and company email through your own mail provider.

Workflow steps in connected apps

A workflow can now add an Integration step that acts in another app: send a Gmail email, post a Slack message to a channel, or create a Google Calendar event. Connect the accounts the steps act as in Settings → Integrations (see workflow apps). Available on the Business plan.

Inspection plans from the model

The model viewer now shows a STEP AP242 model's PMI: dimensions, geometric tolerances, datums, notes and saved views. Carbon turns that PMI into an inspection plan on its own. Each dimension and tolerance becomes a characteristic. Datums and notes are left out.

Strict backflush

Turn on strict backflush in Settings → Items, and backflush takes material only from the line's Pull From storage unit, after any material already picked to the operation's lineside. It applies at locations with an active work center and an active storage unit. A method version cannot be made Active, and a job cannot be released, while a pulled, stocked line has no Pull From. With Prevent negative stock on, a short bin refuses the completion instead of drawing from another bin. With it off, the bin goes below zero and the work completes.

Scheduling that keeps up with staffing

Scheduling now re-plans when staffing or a timezone changes. When work can't be scheduled, it says who could run it. Only a job with a Hard or Soft Deadline can be late.

Configured BOMs in MRP, jobs and quotes

MRP no longer counts a BOM line with quantity 0 as one, so a configured item plans only its chosen configuration. When a configuration rule moves a Make to Order line onto another item, jobs and quotes now build that item's own method under it.

Lists of any length

Long lists load more rows as you scroll, so there are no pages to click through. On lists that support them, the row count is exact at any size. A CSV export of more than 1,000 matching rows, and a bulk action on more than 1,000 selected rows, runs in the background.

Quarantine stock that planning ignores

Mark a storage unit or a storage type non-nettable for a quarantine or hold area. Its stock stays on hand, but MRP and the planning screens do not count it, and picking never takes from it. A stock transfer moves it out again.

Serial numbers when production starts

Settings → Production → Serial Numbers can number serial units at job creation, at job release, or when production first touches each unit. Each item can override the company setting. With release or first-touch timing, draft jobs that are resized or cancelled spend no numbers.

Signed purchase orders and per-line dates

Draw or upload a signature in Account → Profile. Approving a purchase order records the approver's signature, and the PO PDF prints it with the name and approval date. Settings → Purchasing can require a signature to approve. Requested, promised and delivery dates now live on each line.

Kanban IDs and printed cards

Every kanban gets an ID, such as KB000001, printed on its label. Labels print at 4" × 2" or 3" × 2", and on Zebra printers. Settings → Printing has a Kanbans printer per location, with auto-print when a kanban is created. The Kanbans list now shows one row per item.

Company email through your own provider

Send company email through Gmail, or through your own Resend or SMTP account. Documents can also be emailed through server mail without setting up the Email integration.

Find the PO on Receiving

Receiving lists the open purchase order lines waiting to be received, up to 1,000 at a time; search or filter to find later orders. Search by anything on the packing slip: order number, supplier, part number, supplier reference, tracking number or job. Receive creates the receipt in one click.

Warn or block on missing abilities

A process that requires an ability now says what MES does when an operator lacks it. Warn shows a banner and lets them start. Block refuses all production work on the operation and names the training that grants the ability.

Improvements

  • Sign in with the 6-digit code from the sign-in email, so a mail scanner cannot use up the link.
  • Account → Appearance has Text size and Density settings, separate from browser zoom.
  • The General Ledger report lists every posted journal line, with the customer or supplier and invoice number of each.
  • ERP and MES install as apps, show an offline page, and badge the app icon with unread notifications.
  • The RFQ PDF reads as a letter to the supplier.
  • Edit a printer from Settings → Printing without deleting it.
  • Method CSV imports add lines to an existing Draft make method.
  • Settings → Inventory → Receiving can start receipt quantities at zero.

  • On a phone, navigation opens as a bottom sheet you can drag up.
  • Delete a work center or process that nothing uses.
  • Quote finalize shows a missing price, lead time or shipping cost as a yellow warning.
  • Step slide images open full size, with zoom.
  • The MES Measurement step shows the unit and limits.
  • Item thumbnails show on the job properties panel and on batch screens.
  • RFQ share pages show units of measure.
  • A defense UAS demo dataset, with the ISR-4 quadcopter assembly.
  • Error toasts say why a save or delete failed, and the error screen shows a request ID.
  • A seasonal Halloween theme, which anyone can turn off.
